Workplace Mental Health Statistics for May Is Mental Health Awareness Month #9
May 12th — Statistic #9
From Lyra’s 2022 State of Workforce Mental Health Survey Report:
“When asked: Does your organization have plans to change your workforce mental health strategy in 2022, 57% of the employee benefits professionals who responded to the survey said Yes.”
My Thoughts and Comments:
Again, unfortunately we have no idea how employers will be changing their workforce mental health strategy.
To me, a change in strategy means more than simply doing more of what you are already doing. Hopefully this means that employers will begin focusing on mental health just as much as they are now focused on supporting treatment for mental ill-health, mental disorders or mental illness.
Employers need to begin also focusing on mental health because:
- Mental health is different than mental illness.
- All employees experience some level of mental health or mental wellness which ranges from languishing to flourishing.
