As a Holistic Stress Trainer and longtime student of stress, I asked myself the following question:

“In recognition of Stress Awareness Month, what areas related to stress might a senior leader focus on in an effort to build awareness?”

Answering the question, yielded the following list of topics and strategies:

1. Work-life balance

2. Burnout prevention

3. Mental health support

4. Workplace harassment and discrimination

5. Job insecurity and layoffs

6. Communication and feedback

7. Leadership and management styles

8. Workload management

9. Employee engagement and motivation

10. Flexibility in the workplace

11. Creating a positive organization culture and a positive workplace environment

12. Offering mental health resources and support

13. Providing work-life balance initiatives

14. Addressing workplace harassment and discrimination

15. Promoting open communication and feedback

16. Encouraging professional development and career growth

17. Implementing stress-reducing policies and procedures

18. Fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment

19. Recognizing and rewarding employees for their hard work

20. Building strong relationships and trust within the organization

The list of topics and strategies is a great reminder of how large an impact stress can have across the organization.
